Marie and Will's European holiday, 2nd to 18th July 2010
2nd to 4th July 2010 - day one we take a flight from Aberdeen Dyce airport to Amsterdam for a three day stay in five star luxury at the Pulitzer Hotel, weather is perfect, world cup football is on Netherlands V Brazil, Netherlands won, Amsterdam went nuts, very entertaining.
4th to 5th July 2010 - We take an overnight train from Amsterdam through Germany and Switzerland to our next destination.
5th to 7th July 2010 - Italy Venice definitely the hottest and best place I have ever been, we loved it, and no it doesn't smell, the canal water is clean, the atmosphere is alive and the people are great, we would go back in a heart beat.
7th to 8th July 2010 - Train from Venice to Rome
8th to 13th July 2010 - Rome what a place, cooking hot and oozing history, we stayed in two hotels the second and five star best was the St George Hotel wish we had more time to explore Rome but it would take weeks to do the place justice. At this point I can't take any more trains, need to fly so off to Rome International Airport - Fiumicino and a nightmare delay in the Airport thanks to bad weather up north preventing our flight from arriving in Fiumicino Airport, woman with children are loosing it with Easy Jet at the prospect of sleeping in the Airport overnight, mosquitoes are eating us alive, saved the flight arrived! Flight out of Italy to France....
13th to 14th July 2010 - Nice, on the Cote Dazur, we stay in the strangest hotel Hi Hotel Eco Spa & Beach.
14th to 15th July 2010 - TGV train from Nice to Aix En Provence arrived on Bastille Day, two days later back on the TGV train to Paris for an overnight stay.
16th to 16th July 2010 - Paris, no seats on the fast train to Amsterdam, we catch the slow train to Belgium and zig zag back to Amsterdam.
16th to 17th July 2010 - Amsterdam for one more day before flying out next day to a freezing 13c in Aberdeen.
